Robot technology, as one of the core technologies boosting economic growth, has played an important role in manufacturing and is becoming an economic driver in many other areas. With the increasing width and depth in the applications of robot technology, development of robotics is confronted with new scientific and technological challenges and needs proactive efforts from scientists all over the world.

China, Korea and Japan, are the three Asian countries with strongest vitality in economy, science and technology, and significant participation in international affairs. In a perspective to build up a more harmonious, developed and prosperous Asia, for the further development of robotics and enhanced international exchange and cooperation in robotics technology, the 4th China-Korea-Japan Joint Workshop on Robotics will be held at Beijing Xinyuan Hotel on October 27, 2009. The objective of this workshop is to introduce the state-of-the-art of robot technologies and its industrialization as well as the national robotics projects in China, Korea and Japan and to discuss cooperation and technical exchange on robotics among the three countries.

The workshop is organized by the Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization, Ministry of Science and Technology, P. R. China, the Robot Team of Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Korea, and the Japan-China Organization for Business, Academic & Government Partnership, Japan.
